We’ve created some easy diy recipes ideas for you to make your own Valentine’s day gifts this year. Show your appreciation for your special someone with a hand crafted present using our natural ingredients.

For a massage to feel good, you need something to lubricate the skin to minimise friction, something that will allow the hands to glide over the skin. We’ve created this cute little massage balm, that melts on skin contact, moisturising the skin and providing that perfect level of slip to deliver an incredible massage.

This recipe makes a 100g massage balm.

You will need:

- 60g Grapeseed or sweet almond oil – these are probably the most popular bases for massage and they’re super affordable oils.

- 15g Jojoba oil – jojoba elevates this simple balm recipe to something special; the colour and consistency are perfect.

- 15g Beeswax – you need a wax to thicken and give consistency to the balm

- 10g Shea butter – you know we love shea butter; it melts on skin contact making it perfect for a massage balm

- 1g of essential oils – we’ve chosen a sensual blend of lavender & ylang ylang

How to make:

- Place the wax and shea in a double boiler to melt.

- Add the carrier oils and mix to combine.

- Add your essential oils, then pour into a clean jar or tin to set.

To use – scoop out a small amount of balm from the jar or pot, and begin working into the skin, it should melt on skin contact. You have to try this, it will elevate your home massage, and this would be a great valentine’s gift too.

Relaxing Bath Soak

There’s no better way to relax and unwind than an aromatic, steamy bath. We’ve created this easy bath soak recipe that you can make in minutes.

This recipe makes 250g of bath soak.

You will need:

- 150g Epsom salt – this mineral rich salt helps ease aching muscles and encourages relaxation.

- 100g Himalayan Pink salt – pink salt is loaded with beneficial minerals for skin, as well as anti-inflammatory properties. And the pretty pink colour makes the bath soak look so beautiful.

- A handful of dried flowers – I used lavender in this recipe but you could use any dried flowers or herbs you like. You could even add some orange or lemon zest if you fancied!

- 2ml of essential oils – it’s up to you which scents you go for, I used lavender & ylang ylang for a romantic aroma.

- Carrier oil is optional, it’s personal preference whether you want to add a small amount of an oil like sweet almond or fractionated coconut.

How to make:

- Mix all the salts, essential oils and flowers into a bowl then transfer to your chosen container. Super easy but such a lovely homemade gift.

To use -  pour approx. half of the bath soak in to a steamy bath whilst the water is running to help it dissolve. Lay back and enjoy!

Rose Petal Body Scrub

For the third recipe, I was thinking about what pamper products I like to use on my skin and one of my favourites is sugar scrubs. Speedy to make with inexpensive ingredients, they leave my skin feeling so silky and soft. And of course, because it’s Valentine’s Day, I thought why not add some rose petals!

This is incredibly easy to make and you only need 3 ingredients and this recipes makes a 130g body scrub.

You will need:

- 100g sugar – You could use any soft sugar, coconut or brown sugar would work well. You don’t want anything too abrasive so for me, caster sugar is perfect.

- 40ml carrier oil – any carrier oil will work, I used grapeseed oil in this recipe. It’s lovely and light on the skin and absorbs really quickly, leaving skin moisturised and not oily.

- A sprinkle of rose petals – I find dried petals work better but you could use fresh petals.

- 1ml geranium rose essential oil (optional)

How to make:

- Mix the sugar and carrier oil

- Gently pull apart the petals into small pieces and add them to the sugar mix, carefully stirring to evenly distribute the petals.

- You could add a little colouring at this stage but I like to let the rose petals be the shining star in this recipe.

- Transfer to a jar and sprinkle a couple more petals on top to complete the recipe.

To use - scoop some scrub from the jar and apply in a gentle circular motion onto damp skin to exfoliate and smooth skin and then rinse.
